Greater Manchester Police Museum October Open Days

The Greater Manchester Police Museum will be open on Tuesday and Thursday during October half term with special visitors joining each day, it’s the perfect time to visit!
Visitors can take a look at police uniforms and hats from the past in Greater Manchester Police Museum’s Uniform Gallery. Learn about police transport used over the years from horses to motorbikes in the Transport Gallery. Choose a police uniform to try on if you like too! Check out weapons used by criminals in The Crime Room and take a look at police equipment in the Charge Room. Look in Victorian cells and listen to real stories of criminals from back in the day. Find out what happens in a trail in The Courtroom!
The Museum was founded in 1981. Funded by Greater Manchester Police, it not only collects and preserves archive material and objects relating to the history of policing in the Greater Manchester area, but acts as an important resource for community engagement, where visitors can talk to staff and volunteers about policing.
GMP Museum is open from 10:30 to 15:30, with the last admissions at 15:00, entry is free although all donations are gratefully received.
